Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) to Hear Draft Measurements for Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Air Pollution Control Division of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)

DENVER – On Wed., Aug. 31, the Commission will have a special public comment hearing from 11 a.m.- noon. The Air Pollution Control Division (Division) of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will provide comments regarding their development of expected greenhouse gas accounting procedures intended to be used by utilities when creating clean heat plan filings.

Insurance Commissioner Conway Honored with Prism Award

DENVER - On August 20, Colorado Insurance Commissioner Michael Conway was honored as one of the recipients of One Colorado’s 2022 Prism Awards.

One Colorado is the state’s leading advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) Coloradans and their families. The Prism Awards reflect One Colorado’s efforts to amplify inclusive and intersectional work, advancing equality for all LGBTQ+ Coloradans and their families.

Radon professional licensure now required in Colorado

DENVER - Consumers building or buying homes should be aware that any associated radon measurement or radon mitigation services must now be performed by a licensed professional in Colorado. This requirement took effect July 1.

A searchable database of licensees is available here. More than 300 professionals have obtained licensure to date.

New Colorado Towing Legislation Takes Effect Today, Aug. 10

DENVER - New towing legislation passed during the 2022 Colorado Legislative session takes effect today, Aug. 10. Known as House Bill (HB) 22-1314, the new statutes contain numerous changes that help protect consumers.

Colorado Public Utilities Commissioner John Gavan to Host Community Meetings on Utility Issues and “Clean Heat Plans” in Grand Junction and Montrose, July 27, 28

Denver, CO - Commissioner John Gavan (one of three Colorado Public Utilities Commissioners) will be holding a regional public meeting on utility issues and “Clean Heat Plans” in Grand Junction on Wed., July 27 and Thurs., July 28 in Montrose, Colo.

Gavan is holding a community meeting at Colorado Mesa University, University Center, Meyer Ballroom, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. He’ll be joined by local leaders and the Public Service Company of Colorado, to discuss the future of gas and clean heat requirements for gas utilities.
