Division of Insurance Hosting Meetings for Consumers Regarding the Colorado Option

DENVER (August 24, 2021) - The Colorado Division of Insurance is hosting a series of virtual stakeholder meetings designed to address specific stakeholder groups and the concerns of those groups regarding the Colorado Option and the standardized benefit plan being developed. While there are meetings geared towards insurance companies, health care providers and facilities, there are additional meetings geared toward Coloradans outside of the health care industry.

Office of Consumer Counsel advises small businesses to review natural gas provider contracts

DENVER (May 12, 2021) - As natural gas charges from February’s extreme weather event continue to impact residents and businesses alike, the Colorado Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC) is advising small businesses, multi-dwelling residential, and institutional property owners in Colorado to review and assess their natural gas service contracts for terms, conditions, requirements, and consumer protections.

PUC Announces the Federal Communications Commission’s Emergency Broadband Benefits Program

DENVER (May 11, 2021) - On December 27, 2020, the Consolidated Appropriations Act became law and established an Emergency Broadband Connectivity Fund of $3.2 billion in the United States Treasury to help Americans afford internet service during the pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefits Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program, administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), that uses federal funding to provide temporary discounts on monthly broadband bills for qualified low-income households.
